Aim of this workshop 

To equip participants with practical strategies to handle challenging interactions, stay calm under pressure, and enhance self-awareness and impact in conflict situations. This workshop does not include any physical intervention training but is focused on prevention and early intervention.

Desired outcomes

That participants will: 

  • Feel more confident in handling challenging situations with calm and control.

  • Recognise the impact of their own behaviour and self-management in de-escalating tensions.

  • Gain practical tools to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate conflict constructively.

    A bit of background about Karen

    Karen is a Community Advisor with Community Waikato.  She has a background in providing behaviour support in the disability sector and have been a certified Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Instructor and Professional Crisis Management Master Trainer in the past.
