Marketing is just as important for the community sector as it is for any other type of organisation. Marketing enables you to build awareness of an issue and to gain support from the public for your cause. A marketing plan is a roadmap that outlines how your marketing initiatives are going to reach your target audience and improve the success of your organisation.

This workshop takes you through some of the basics of marketing and how to go about developing a marketing campaign. You will learn how to create a marketing plan with measurable actions. We will also discuss some practical ways to use some of the more common marketing channels more effectively.

Kim Cable resize Kim Cable is Director of Hamilton based marketing firm Markethub Marketing Services. She is also the Marketing and Communications Manager at Community Waikato.

University qualified in Marketing, Kim has over 20 years’ experience in various marketing roles.  This experience was gained by working in a number of different industries, from local government to corporate, small to large organisations; consequently she has a broad range of knowledge and skills working with many different types of people and customers.  

Kim has delivered a range of marketing workshops targeted toward not-for-profit organisations over the last 4 years.

Kim is also a member of the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ), that promotes ethical fundraising, and has had fundraising experience working for the not-for-profit and educational sectors.
